Leslie contacted me and wanted to do maternity + newborn portraits. It broke my heart that I couldn’t fit her in for maternity BUT I think we redeemed ourselves with this gorgeous newborn gallery! Baby Lillian was an absolute dream. She had the best hair and the chubbiest little cheeks. She was definitely one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen! Mom arrived at the studio at 9am and got her hair and makeup done by Hanna, our lead hair and makeup artist. While she was relaxing in the salon chair my assistant and I got started right away on the baby only portion of the newborn session. She was so sleepy and just got her belly full so it was a breeze posing her in some really simple and relaxed poses. She even flashed us several smiles throughout her newborn portraits. The simple and relaxed poses have become a parent request a lot here recently and I’m not mad about it at all. They are my favorites too! I love posing baby where they look comfortable and natural. I love shooting these on white fabric to keep it simple and keep the baby the focus of the portrait. The first pose you see on white is called the “egg wrap” this really showcases how baby would have been in the mother’s womb. They just look so snuggly. I like doing these naked so that you can see the hands, feet, and all the tiny details.
Mom ordered a 20x30 Acrylic of her and baby girl and I can not wait to see it printed!! She also ordered a barnwood framed wooden circle of just baby Lillian in the sage green. It will look absolutely stunning in her boho themed newborn nursery.
