I have been photographing this sweet family since they moved to Cape Girardeau from St. Louis, Missouri. Sarah is the owner of a local salon in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Her salon, Eden Health Spa & Salon is where all my clients go for professional hair and makeup to get ready for their photo sessions with me. Sarah and her husband, Matt are two of the nicest and loving humans I have ever met. I am so blessed to call them friends. If you visit Eden you will also see an array of my work hanging on their walls. We decided to go with an acrylic finish to fit the aesthetic of the salon/spa. Next time you are there for a service take a look at them, you can’t miss them they are everywhere!
Little Faustina Rose. She was so tiny but had the plumpest cheeks! She was seriously a dream baby! I guess you have to be when you are baby number 5, haha! She was so snuggly and her big brothers and sisters almost fought over who got to hold her first for the family portion of the session. Normally, Sarah likes to do in home lifestyle sessions for her newborns but decided on a studio session with Faustina. She fell in love with my boho bedroom setup which mimics a master bedroom. This is a nice alternative when you don’t feel like getting your home “picture ready” but you are still wanting that lifestyle/candid look to your newborn session. I have worked so hard putting this space together so my clients would feel like they were in an oasis and they could relax and just be present for their photoshoot. It has come together nicely and it has been a huge hit with my maternity and newborn clients alike. I have also done some maternity sessions in this space that are absolutely gorgeous!! I have several boho gowns that will fit all the way up to size 24. We are a full service photography studio, located in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri. We are only 1.5 hours south of St. Louis , 3.5 hours from Nashville, Tennessee, and 6 hours from Chicago, Illinois. We have clients that travel to us from all over the midwest. I can give you excellent Airbnb recommendations for your stay while you are in town for your maternity or newborn session. We even offer gift certificates to our favorite local restaurants to our clients who travel from out of town and need to book lodging for their session. When is the best time to book my newborn session? I recommend booking as soon as you enter your second trimester (12 weeks gestation) I am typically booked up several months in advance. I do sometimes have last minute openings but that does not happen often. So, I do encourage booking at that 12 week mark. I do have several clients that even book me in the first trimester .
When do you actually shoot the newborn session? Ideal time is when baby is between 14-21 days old. I have this down to a science and their are several reasons why I shoot them at this age.
Do you have a studio? Yes, we are located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Do I need to bring anything to my newborn session? No. We provide everything for you.
Can we have family and sibling images taken at our newborn session? Yes! In fact we encourage you to do so. This is a huge milestone for the entire family and it deserves to be documented.
